We’ve grown our group a little more – please welcome Nathan Loewen, UnionWare Team Vanguard’s newest developer!
Nathan’s been interested in technology for as long as he can remember, and even offered friends and fellow students computer support throughout high school. Nathan followed this passion into his post-secondary years and graduated with a degree in Computer Science from the University of Manitoba. He gained valuable experience working in the computer lab during and after his studies in the field of augmented reality.
Unfortunately, funding dried up, and Nathan moved on to something very different. He spent the next year programming browser automation for DMT Development Systems, a local company offering software solutions for business customers in the automotive sector. Once the time came to consider other options, we were fortunate to find our way on Nathan’s radar – and the rest is history.
Outside of work, Nathan enjoys playing both board and computer games (good thing our staff hold a games night every month!) and spending time with his wife and cat. Word is that Nathan became quite proficient in piano in his youth, achieving grade 8 and earning several high school credits through teaching – not bad for someone who would have rather played the drums. We haven’t been able to convince him to play for us yet, as he’s given up playing, but that doesn’t mean we won’t keep trying.
Welcome to UnionWare, Nathan!
