New Department: Analysis Department

In response to a Support request, you might hear “The request you have submitted is going to require detailed analysis. I’ve referred your request to our analysis department – they will contact you within two days with details of the next steps.” We’ve realized that some requests of the Support department are very complex and/or are requests for new functionality. By extending our Analysis department, we are now able to dedicate more time and process to these types of requests.

Client Visits: Update

We’ve been busy over the past month visiting a few clients, trying to keep in touch and in tune with their situation. This is something we are trying to do more of as face-to-face visits are just so much better than phone calls and email. Interestingly a common theme emerged from this latest round of client meetings - training. The general need seems to be how to get information out of UnionWare quickly and in a way that can be presented well. So, we’ve set up a few economical one hour online training sessions specific to this topic.

New Team Members: Developers

In January, UnionWare came to a clear conclusion - it was time to hire additional developers. It seems that lately we always have a large amount of implementation work on the go... which is great! However, we need to ensure that our product development continues as planned. With several new web applications in the works we needed to bring on a couple of great developers who could hit the ground running. After a focused search we are pleased to have found Cameron Hayglass and Jacob Policarpio. Cam and Jake joined the UnionWare team on Monday, March 15th. Please join us in welcoming them both to our team.

New Team Member: Communications Coordinator

Ever talk to a bunch of "techies" - it can be a bit awkward I know, my wife has 14 years of direct experience with this. But hey, you can't be great at everything! Or can we? Recognizing that "communication is key" we are pleased to announce that we have hired a full time Communications Coordinator, Ms. Jenina Wiebe. Jenina's role is to give UnionWare a voice. To keep you informed of what we're working on, what's new in the product, and what's coming up. She's been on the job just a few weeks now and we're already seeing that communication is truly a two way street. Jenina has been speaking with many of you already and we are learning more about you and your organizations than ever before. Please join us in welcoming Jenina to our team.

UnionCare Tour: San Diego to Vancouver

During the week of November 30th we had the pleasure of visiting our clients on the west coast (San Diego, Los Angeles, Sacramento, Seattle, and Vancouver). These trips are great for us to keep in touch with how UnionWare is being used day to day. One of the highlights was the continued success of a number of clients using UnionWare to run their Member Resource Centers (MRC's). All member calls are routed through the MRC where reps use UnionWare to research issues, track call types, and set reminders for follow up. We were also impressed by the sheer volume of documents clients are storing within UnionWare and linking to members and grievances.

Client Huddles: Staying Focussed

There are many areas of common initiatives, challenges, and requirements among our clients. To address this we have created the HUDDLE. It's a forum where ideas can be shared, problems solved, and innovation can flourish. The HUDDLE is a no fee forum exclusively for UnionWare clients. We are starting with an invitation to our SEIU clients and will follow up shortly with a series of huddles open to all clients.

Huddle #1 - exclusive to our SEIU clients
