Account Managers and Software Developers
We're glad you've found us. When it comes to hiring, we like the bus metaphor used in the book Good to Great (in fact, we like everything about the book). We have a few seats open on our bus, and we're looking for some great people to join us for the ride. We're a software company, so to board our bus you'll need the standard IT qualifications. More importantly, and to enjoy the ride, you'll need to fit in with our informal culture of hard/smart work, laughter, cards at lunch, coffee, birthday cake, and stepping up when you see a need. You'll put yourself in our client's shoes and act accordingly. When it comes to leadership, we try to manage the business, not the people... you'd have to be okay with that too. We pay well, are big on taking time to recharge, and share 30% of the profit equally among staff. Head office is in Winnipeg, of course.
Account Manager
You will be the day-to-day face and voice of UnionWare. Your goal is to keep our clients excited about us, our products, and our services. You will partner with other account managers in "owning" a set of clients. This is not a sales job — this is a results job where you are responsible for the efficient resolution of client requests. These can range from a quick training session, to taking the specs for a small customization, to adjusting some SQL, to working with our software developers to solve a problem. Not only will you have to be technically smart (IT related post-secondary training) but you'll also have to be comfortable talking with our clients about their challenges and opportunities. You'll visit them on occasion (we have clients throughout Canada and the United States ... even Hawaii!) and really get to know them. So, if you're good with our culture, technically "with it", and like people, we'd love to chat with you about becoming our next Account Manager.

Software Developer
Your goal is to produce software that works right the first time and doesn't need to be brought back into the shop. You pay attention to detail, think through all the possible implications of your work, and meet your commitments. You're skilled in the Microsoft .NET environment, Microsoft SQL Server, and Crystal Reports and have completed a post-secondary IT degree or diploma. Projects will range from client data conversions and implementations, to new product development, to special customization projects. So, if you're good with our culture, a "hell of a programmer", and good to get along with, we'd love to chat with you about becoming our next Software Developer.
